Councillor welcomes "progress at last" on Kingseat bus service
East Garioch councillor Martin Ford has welcomed the prospect of a bus service being introduced to serve Kingseat. A service is now scheduled to start on 16 August 2010.
Cllr Ford has been pressing for a bus service to be introduced
since the new housing at Kingseat was first occupied. This has not been
possible because of the unfinished state of the road system in the
development site.
Cllr Ford said: "I understand that it is now expected the main
routes at Kingseat will be surfaced by the end of June, making it
possible for buses to operate. Just having these roads finished will be
a big improvement after a long wait. The roads will not at this stage
have been adopted by the Council.
"I am very pleased that at last there will be public transport at Kingseat."
Details of the proposed bus service will not be known until June.
