Ellon councillor is latest victim of council purge
In a surprise development at today's Formartine Area Committee, Councillor Debra Storr has been removed as the Committee's vice-chair.
Cllr Rob Merson moved an 'Emergency Motion' to replace Cllr Storr with Cllr Alisan Norrie (Independent). There do not appear to be any grounds for allowing this item to be considered as an 'emergency'.
Councillors voted 8 to 2 to remove Cllr Storr.
Commenting Cllr Storr said: "This is just the latest development in the continued ostracisation and witch-hunt against those councillors who have stood up for the rights of the residents at Menie."
Cllr Storr has given strong support to her constituents fighting the possibility that the Council will use compulsory purchase orders to force them to leave their homes on Donald Trump's estate. Cllr Paul Johnston and Cllr Martin Ford have been previously been subjected to witch-hunts within the Council for not supporting the Trump development.
Most councillors on the Formartine Area Committee have refused to say whether they will vote to force residents at Menie to leave their homes.
