Greens out in Ellon on first weekend of election campaign

Aberdeenshire Greens were out delivering leaflets and canvassing in support of their general election candidate, Sue Edwards, in Ellon over the weekend. Amongst those campaigning for the Scottish Green Party in Ellon on Saturday was Ellon and District councillor Debra Storr.

Sue Edwards herself was also calling on residents in Ellon. She said: "We had a great first weekend to the campaign in wonderful spring weather - and a really friendly and enthusiastic reception as we called round. People told us they felt very let down by the MPs at Westminster. If Ellon is anything to go by, incumbents everywhere are going have a difficult time persuading people that they should be re-elected."

Sue Edwards' election agent is Aberdeenshire councillor Martin Ford. He said: "The Scottish Green Party's campaign in Gordon is off to a flying start.

"I think this is going to be a really interesting election. There's a lot of unhappiness with the political establishment. And a lot of people who are considering changing their vote this time but have not yet decided who they might vote for instead.

"To all those who want change, the Scottish Green Party's message is: 'So do we - and if you find yourself agreeing with the policies we are putting forward during this election, please give us your support on 6th May'."
