Said Rhonda Reekie, "The Scottish Green Party will be putting forward a positive message with proposals to aid economic recovery while protecting the environment." Sue Edwards added, "This is a crucial election. People have been so badly let down by so many of their elected representatives, it's time for a fresh start. The Green Party will be the real alternative in this election."

The Scottish Green Party is confident of mounting its best-ever campaign for a general election. It is expected that Green MPs will be elected for the first time in the UK. Locally, the Scottish Green Party has been campaigning hard in anticipation of today's announcement for several months.
