Welcome for new bus service
East Garioch councillor Martin Ford has welcomed the introduction of the long-awaited Kingseat-Newmachar bus service.
The new service (Service 404) started yesterday (16 August), as planned and in line with what was announced in May.
The new service consists of a shuttle bus
between Kingseat and Newmachar at peak times (morning and evening) with a
single return trip at lunch time on Saturday. (See attached timetable).
Funding for the new service has come from 'planning gain' money from the Kingseat development.
Commenting, Cllr Ford said: "I have been
pressing for this service to be introduced for several years - but the
unfinished roads at Kingseat meant the buses couldn't operate, so the
service couldn't start. I am very pleased that now, at last, the service
is operating. I hope it will prove useful to residents and be well
used."
